Bloomsburg Track Competes at Penn Relays

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University track team competed at the Penn Relays late Thursday evening. Justin Shepherd (Cranberry Twp/ Seneca Valley) and Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/ Middleburg) highlighted the race for Bloomsburg running NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 10k and 5k respectively

Shepherd ran the 10k in a time of 30.43.98, finishing 15th in a predominantly Division I field, while Hackenberg ran the 5k in a time of 17:28.66, currently the 10th fastest time in the Division II. Also running for Bloomsburg was Beth Schwing (Hershey/ Lower Dauphin), who finished the 10k in a time of 37.48:37. In the long jump, Connie Raineri (Gilbertsville/ St. Pius X) cleared 16'9" for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg will compete at Shippensburg on Saturday at 10 a.m.
